Enjoy the process.

What if we let go of what the results should be?

If we focus continuously on the results, we always seem to live in the future. We miss the present.

If you go to the gym to focus on the results you want, eventually the process loses it's enjoyment. You compare yourself to what you want to look like or feel like in the future.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have a vision. I'm talking about comparing every day to the results we want.

If you want to be in a relationship and you have a detailed profile of who you are looking for and what kind of person you want, you may miss the beauty that could be in front of you.

You may miss the subtle nuances in this person, the distinction in expression that they may bring which is unique to them. You're too busy living in the future. It takes the fun out of it.

What if we focus on the process?

If we enjoy the process, it will take care of the results. It always does. Enjoying the process let's go of the control.

When I focus on the process at the gym, I have fun. When my focus is on the form only, I enjoy it. I want to see what I can do, not what I want to look like. This also surprises me. It's a surprise to see what will come as a result when the result is not the goal. Having an idea of what I want to look like limits me on the possibilities of what I can't see. It puts me in a box. Maybe I can do better than I think, maybe I can get more strength or agility, but if I focus on the result only then I'm not going beyond the result.

When I focus on the process of meeting someone, getting to know them and understanding them, I'm actually enjoying myself and I can truly appreciate things about the person in front of me instead of again, comparing them to an image or personality type I have in my head.

I can see the beauty that presents itself because I don't have this profile that I continuously compare to. I'm in the present more.

The idea of results based thinking is that it robs you of the full value the process has to offer.

The enjoyment lies in the process not in the result.

The process gives you a result.

Slow down and dance with the process.

Where else can you let go of the result and enjoy the process
